How often should I get a facial treatment?

How often should I get a facial treatment?

Welcome to my first blog post! I’m very excited to be going on this journey with you all! If you have a topic you’d like me to blog about, please let me know!

One of the most asked questions I get is, How often should I be coming in? This question has multiple answers in my opinion.

Short answer, every 4-6 weeks for clients ages 30 and up.

Long answer I will tell you is that it depends on multiple factors. If you can commit to coming in every 4-6 weeks and using a custom homecare regimen from me, that would be the most ideal situation! Now, I am a realist and I know that is feasible for everyone for multiple reasons. So I meet you where you are!

I tell my clients we have 2 things to spend, our time and our money and everyone has different amounts of each. I work with each client to figure out what your goals are and how quickly do you want to achieve those and then I look at how can we best achieve them within those parameters.

If you can only come in every 3 months, but we get you on a customized homecare for you so you’re still achieving skin health then I am all for that! If you are a minimalist and don’t have much time at home but we find an easy for you regimen while you still get your monthly treatments, we will work that out too! I really strive to give you the best treatments and product selection with the best price for the quality. I only use professional skincare products and encourage you to sample anything so you can try for yourself and make sure you love it. I have price points for every budget and even offer payment options as I know it can feel overwhelming when just getting started in taking care of your skin.

Let’s explain why I suggest every 4-6 weeks rotation. I love learning about new topics but if I don’t understand why something is the way it is, it doesn’t mean as much. I’m sure there are a few of you that are like me and like to know why we do what we do.  It comes down to our cellular turnover, which decreases as we age.

What Is Cellular Turnover Cellular turnover is the biological process of shedding dead skin cells to replace existing skin cells with younger healthy cells.

Skin turns over about every 14 days when we are children. By the time you reach your 20s, skin cellular turnover reduces by 24 to 30 days. And by the time we are in our 40s, our cells turn over every 45 to 60 days and extend to every 60 to 90 days as we continue to age.

Working alongside your cell cycle will assist in getting rid of the dead skin and reveal new skin and help avoid buildup and other skin conditions that can occur. Reminder, that this does not pertain to just our faces, our entire skin needs to be taken care of.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my first blog and I look forward to sharing much more knowledge, tips and insight going forward! I have a lot that gets discussed with my clients and talking about selfcare is my favorite thing to do!
